I enjoyed this story and look forward to following all 4 friends through their love life. Mac, Parker, Emma, and Laurel are best friends who play wedding as kids. They each come from different backgrounds but all mesh together so well. This first book is about Mac. She has divorced parents where she doesn’t see her dad and her mom is constantly in and out of love. Her mom is selfish and doesn’t ever take into account Mac’s feelings on anything. She uses and abuses Mac. This is where Mac gets her dislike for love. She doesn’t trust it so she doesn’t trust herself. Carter comes along and is this cute clumsy teacher who asks her out. It is typical boy meets girl, they date, then one freaks out, and eventually they get back together for their happily ever after. Carter is so cute and really tries to cater to Macs insecurities so that she is comfortable and happy with him. He had a crush as kids, and now his childhood infatuation has grown into deep, true love. Mac is skeptical, enjoys Carter and loves being around him but it takes a bit for her to realize he is her true love. I laughed throughout the book, felt for Mac with the drama around her mom, and enjoyed this story. I will enjoy reading the rest of the series.
