Wes is a quirky guy working in tech who has a very interesting family. The dynamic is shown right away where his mother, Mary, is in charge. Wes has a brother and sister who is married with children. There are multiple scenarios when Mary seems to be doing favors for everyone but also working behind the scenes to create the family that she desires. In the name of love and family, there are no lines that Mary won’t cross. So many twists and turns throughout the story and a definite twist at the end that I never saw coming. This book really had me from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down.
I had never read anything by Phil Williams before and now will look to see what else he has written. I am curious to see if his other books follow a similar pattern with twists and turns. I love being surprised multiple times, not seeing the plot twist coming. This story kept me on my toes.
